About the Opportunity

\n

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international financial institution for an experienced Financial Crime Compliance Officer to join their UK Compliance team on a 12-month contract.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with strong experience in Financial Crime, AML, KYC, Sanctions, and Financial Crime Advisory within a global banking environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising the business on financial crime risks, supporting regulatory compliance, and strengthening the firm's financial crime framework.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Provide Financial Crime Advisory support to the business on client onboarding, periodic reviews, and transaction-related escalations.
  • \n
  • Assess and mitigate financial crime risks relating to AML, KYC, Sanctions, PEPs, ABC, and reputational risk.
  • \n
  • Review and approve complex client files and financial crime risk assessments.
  • \n
  • Provide guidance to Front Office and Client Due Diligence teams on financial crime matters.
  • \n
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence and open-source investigations.
  • \n
  • Maintain client financial crime risk ratings and ensure accurate documentation.
  • \n
  • Support the development and enhancement of financial crime policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • \n
  • Deliver financial crime compliance training across the business.
  • \n
  • Monitor regulatory developments and implement changes where required.
  • \n
  • Produce management information and compliance reporting for senior management and governance committees.
  • \n
  • Support internal audits and regulatory requests.
  • \n

Required Experience

\n
    \n
  • Proven experience within Financial Crime Compliance (2nd Line of Defence).
  • \n
  • Strong experience advising on AML, KYC, Sanctions, PEPs, ABC, and Financial Crime Risk.
  • \n
  • Experience conducting financial crime reviews, investigations, and client risk assessments.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK Financial Crime regulations and industry best practices.
  • \n
  • Experience working within an Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, or Global Financial Institution.
  • \n
  • Experience using Dow Jones RiskCenter, Factiva, or similar screening platforms.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, research, and report-writing skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
  • \n
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • \n
