Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Family Safeguarding

\nAbout the Role
\nTelford & Wrekin Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive service, making a real difference to children and families while managing complex safeguarding cases.
\nAs a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a varied and complex caseload, undertaking assessments, care planning, and delivering effective interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Manage a diverse and complex caseload within Family Safeguarding. \n
- Complete assessments, care planning, and interventions to support children and families. \n
- Assess and manage risk, making informed, evidence-based decisions. \n
- Contribute to safeguarding processes and court proceedings where required. \n
- Apply relevant legislation, policies, and best practice to deliver child-focused services. \n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency professionals. \n
- Deliver a range of interventions and review outcomes, adapting plans where necessary. \n
- Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports, including court documentation. \n
- Undertake preventative work aimed at reducing risk and strengthening family resilience. \n
- Support multi-agency working and contribute to continuous service improvement. \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration. \n
- Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience working within Children's Services. \n
- Strong experience in safeguarding, assessments, child protection, and care planning. \n
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions. \n
- Excellent knowledge of relevant children's social care legislation, policies, and frameworks. \n
- Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills. \n
- Commitment to continuous professional development. \n
