Senior Reporter, Private Credit Secondaries
Job Description
Establish a new coverage area for a leading intelligence business covering European credit, with a clear path to building a team.
\nSecondary activity in private credit has accelerated sharply, with GP-led deal volume climbing as institutional capital moves into the market. This desk is creating a dedicated beat to match, and you will define it: generating leads on private credit borrowers facing pressure and covering the sale of LP fund interests and loan portfolios, as well as GP-led deals. Reporting centres on PE-owned businesses financed by private debt.
\nYou will set the coverage agenda from day one, working alongside an established team of journalists and financial and legal analysts in London. As the beat proves out, you will be well positioned to build a team and take on section editor responsibilities.
\nKey responsibilities
\n- \n
- Establish and own coverage of private credit secondaries, setting the reporting agenda for the beat. \n
- Break news on LP and GP-led secondary transactions, as well as stressed large and mid-cap private credit names. \n
- Produce thematic pieces identifying affected sectors and emerging trends across PE and private credit funds. \n
- Build and maintain rapport with contacts across PE, private credit, and the advisory community. \n
Key requirements
\n- \n
- Significant experience in financial journalism with a track record of scoops. \n
- A solid understanding of PE and debt capital markets, particularly private credit, leveraged loans, and HY bonds. \n
- Strong interpersonal skills to build sources among sophisticated deal makers, and the ability to write clearly under deadline pressure. \n
