Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
This is a part time, fixed term opportunity for 18 months
\nThe Construction Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and financial side of Phase 1 Yard Transformation related projects. This includes cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial control to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining profitability and compliance.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
\nCost Management & Budget Control
\n- \n
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for construction projects \n
- Monitor project costs and identify potential cost risks and opportunities \n
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management \n
- Ensure cost efficiency and value for money throughout the project lifecycle \n
Procurement & Tendering
\n- \n
- Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities (BoQ), and pricing schedules \n
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor tenders and provide recommendations \n
Contract Administration
\n- \n
- Administer construction contracts & manage variations, change orders, and claims \n
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and legal requirements \n
Valuations & Payments
\n- \n
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts \n
- Assess subcontractor applications for payment & Issue payment certificates \n
Risk & Value Management
\n- \n
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks \n
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering strategies \n
- Monitor financial exposure across projects \n
Stakeholder Management
\n- \n
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants \n
- Support project teams with commercial expertise \n
- Provide advice on contractual and financial matters \n

Required Qualifications & Experience
\n- \n
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field \n
- Membership RICS / CIOB or similar professional body \n
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction \n
- Knowledge of UK construction practices and NEC contracts \n
