Controls & Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA)
\nOur client, a specialist engineering business delivering bespoke automation and control system solutions across industrial, manufacturing and marine sectors, is looking for an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA) to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven automation professional to play a key role in the design, development, testing and commissioning of advanced control systems, working on complex, one-off projects from concept through to completion.
\nThe Nitty Gritty:
\nAs a Controls & Automation Engineer, you'll be:
\nDesigning and developing PLC and SCADA control systems for bespoke engineering projects.
\nProducing functional design specifications and supporting project documentation.
\nProgramming PLC systems to meet customer and project requirements.
\nDeveloping SCADA applications and operator interfaces.
\nDesigning and implementing distributed network architectures for industrial and marine installations.
\nSelecting PLC hardware and field devices in line with project specifications.
\nWorking alongside Mechanical Design, Production, Project Management and Quality teams to ensure successful project delivery.
\nSupporting design reviews, technical meetings and customer discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
\nAssisting with bid proposals, technical support and customer liaison activities.
\nTesting and commissioning systems both in-house and at customer sites, including UK and international travel when required.
\nProviding technical support for service engineers and resolving customer queries.
\nContributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the design and engineering function.

\nPermanent, full-time position with a well-established engineering company.
\nOpportunity to work on complex, bespoke automation projects from design through to commissioning.
\nSuitable for an experienced Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or PLC/SCADA Engineer.
\nProven experience programming Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE or similar PLC platforms is essential.
\nPrevious experience with SCADA packages such as Wonderware, Cimplicity, Genesis or equivalent is desirable.
\nKnowledge of distributed network design and implementation is highly advantageous.
\nHND, Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline preferred.
\nStrong organisational and interpersonal skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
\nWillingness to travel within the UK and overseas for commissioning and customer support activities.
\nHours:
\n37 hours per week.
\nMonday to Thursday: 08:00 16:45.
\nFriday: 08:00 12:00.
\nFlexibility required to work additional hours when operationally necessary.
\nPay & Benefits:
\nSalaryfrom £55,000-£65,000 DOE
\n33 days annual leave including statutory holidays.
