Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join an established industrial coatings company in Sunderland, with almost 40 years experience across a range of engineering sectors.This is a hands-on role involving the day-to-day coordination of production activities, supporting operatives and working closely with the planning and quality teams to ensure customer requirements and delivery dates are met.It would suit an organised and personable manager who is keen to contribute ideas and make a difference within a small team.What we need from you:Previous production management, supervisory or team leadership experience within an industrial, manufacturing or engineering environmentExcellent organisational and people-management skillsThe ability to plan workloads, manage changing priorities and meet customer delivery datesAn ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructionsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and customer inspectorsGood problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with production issues practically and efficientlyA keen, hardworking and dedicated approach, with a strong work ethicThe ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small teamGood IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and SharePointA full UK driving licenceDesirable:Previous experience within the industrial coatings, blasting or painting industryExperience reading and interpreting customer paint specificationsThe ability to prepare paint procedures and Inspection & Test PlansExperience within Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, Nuclear, Defence, Construction or Heavy EngineeringWhat the role involves:Overseeing and coordinating daily production activitiesEnsuring work instructions are carried out safely, efficiently and to the required standardOrganising workloads and supporting production operatives to achieve customer delivery datesMonitoring the progress of jobs and addressing production issues or potential delaysWorking closely with planning and quality assurance to ensure individual job requirements are metEnsuring work complies with engineering drawings, customer specifications and company proceduresLeading, motivating and supporting production operatives to maintain quality and productivityHelping to improve production processes, workflow and right-first-time performanceSupporting the investigation of quality issues and the implementation of corrective actionsAssisting with customer inspections and visitsLiaising with clients and customer inspectors to build strong working relationshipsSupporting the continued development and growth of the businessSalary: Negotiable depending on experience.Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am4:00pm and Friday: 7:30am2:30pm.Overtime may be required during busy periods to support business requirements.
