Are you looking to build your career within purchasing and procurement? Do you have previous experience in a buying, purchasing, supply chain or buying administration role and want the opportunity to progress within a growing business?

We are looking for a proactive and organised Junior Buyer to join the Purchasing team within a manufacturing SME based in Swindon. This is a hands-on role where you'll take responsibility for managing day-to-day purchasing activities and supplier relationships, ensuring materials and products are available to support production requirements.

\n

Working closely with the Buyer, you'll play a key role in managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, maintaining supplier information and supporting the wider procurement function.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing purchasing experience who is looking to develop their career in a supportive environment with scope for future progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with purchasing plans and business requirements.
  • \n
  • Monitor open orders, delivery schedules and supplier lead times.
  • \n
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, pricing and general enquiries.
  • \n
  • Resolve supplier issues including shortages, delivery delays, returns and credits.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing and purchasing data.
  • \n
  • Assist with obtaining supplier quotations and comparing costs.
  • \n
  • Support the Buyer & Planner with procurement administration and reporting.
  • \n
  • Manage purchasing-related inboxes and supplier communications.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure supply requirements are met.
  • \n
  • Provide general operational purchasing support as required.

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a purchasing, buying, procurement or supply chain position.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with experience dealing with suppliers and managing business relationships.
  • \n
  • Good Excel and data management skills.
  • \n
\n

Desirable Experience

\n
    \n
  • Manufacturing or FMCG experience.
  • \n
  • CIPS qualification or studying towards CIPS.
  • \n
  • Experience using MRP systems
  • \n
\n
