Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a leading manufacturer based in South Wales.
\nThis role sits within an established procurement and supply chain team and will play a key part in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, inventory optimisation and continuous improvement across a complex international supply network.
\nWe are looking for a proactive and analytical supply chain professional who enjoys problem-solving, supplier engagement and driving operational efficiencies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Expedite critical materials and components to support operational requirements \n
- Drive lead time reduction initiatives with suppliers and internal stakeholders \n
- Identify and resolve supply chain issues through effective problem-solving techniques \n
- Support cost reduction and inventory optimisation projects \n
- Source, assess and onboard new suppliers as required \n
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to improve performance and service levels \n
- Produce reports, presentations and analysis to support decision-making \n
- Utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage supply chain activity and reporting \n
- Contribute to global supply chain and logistics improvement initiatives \n
- Support purchasing process development and continuous improvement activities \n
- Generate system-based reports and performance metrics \n
- Analyse supply chain data and provide KPI reporting \n
- Monitor market conditions and identify potential supply risks or constraints \n
- Work cross-functionally to support service-level performance and forecasting activities \n
- Develop reporting tools to support delivery and operational performance targets \n
About You
\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:
\n- \n
- Previous experience within procurement, supply chain, purchasing or materials planning \n
- Degree qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline is desirable but not essential \n
- CIPS qualification or working towards accreditation \n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills \n
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities \n
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience advantageous) \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint \n

39-hour week. Following an initial training and onboarding period (six months), you'll move to a hybrid working pattern of 4 days in the office and 1 day from home.
