Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing logistics business seeking an Import Clerk to join their successful team in Feltham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid air import experience and a strong understanding of customs procedures, looking to take ownership of shipments from start to finish.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing import shipments, predominantly air freight imports, while also handling sea freight shipments where required. Working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers and customs authorities, you'll ensure cargo moves efficiently and compliantly through the import process.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing import shipments from start to finish, with a primary focus on air freight imports
\n
• Processing and checking import documentation, including Air Waybills, Bills of Lading and commercial invoices
\n
• Completing and submitting CDS customs entries
\n
• Liaising with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents and customers
\n
• Monitoring shipment progress and providing timely updates to clients
\n
• Ensuring all imports comply with UK customs regulations and procedures
\n
• Resolving any shipment or customs-related issues efficiently
\n
• Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
\n

About You

\n
• Proven experience in imports within freight forwarding or logistics
\n
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures and CDS entries
\n
• Air freight import experience is essential
\n
• Exposure to sea freight imports would be highly advantageous
\n
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
\n
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads
\n
• Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office
\n
• Experience using Sequoia or Boxtop would be beneficial
\n
