\nAbout the Role
\nAre you a veteran of the UK Building Societies or Credit Unions world who knows exactly what
\nhappens behind the scenes of a mortgage or loan application? Have you mapped, built, or
\nimplemented a Loan Origination System (LOS) from the ground up and know every workflow, data
\nfield, and API integration by heart?
\nWe are looking for a highly specialised Product Operations & Workflow Expert for an initial 3-
\nmonth contract.
\nWhat You’ll Do
\nDrive Product Engineering: Work hand-in-hand with our core product engineers to actively
\ndevelop, refine, and shape the functionality, interfaces, and design of our new AI-first lending
\nsuite.
\nDeconstruct the LOS Workflow: Map out the exact end-to-end mortgage and loan
\norigination journey specific to UK Building Societies and Credit Unions from initial broker DIP
\n(Decision in Principle) right through to completion.
\nGranular Field & Interface Mapping: Drill down into the operational weeds. You will define
\nthe exact data fields, regulatory data points (FCA Consumer Duty, MCOB rules), and
\nstandard interface parameters required at each stage of the underwriting lifecycle.
\nInterface & Integration Logic: Outline how modern LOS engines need to communicate with
\nlegacy core banking platforms, credit bureaus, valuation services, and intermediary/broker
\nportals.
\nProductizing AI Agents: Guide our Core Banking and Purple Fabric engineering teams on
\nhow to embed AI Digital Underwriting Agents into daily operations without breaking standard
\nmutual sector governance or risk frameworks.
\nWho You Are
\nThis is not a generic project management or IT role. We need someone who has actively & quot; wielded the tools & quot; or owned the product operations in this specific niche.
\nSector Deep-Dive: You have a deep, practical understanding of how UK Building Societies
\nand Credit Unions uniquely operate their lending books (e.g., handling complex or non-
\nstandard manual underwriting compared to rigid tier-1 algorithmic banks).
\nLOS Subject Matter Expert: You have either:
\n1. Implemented/Configured an LOS framework into a UK building society as an
\nOperations/Business Lead.
\n2. Acted as a Product Manager/Product Owner developing LOS software specifically
\ntailored to the UK mutuals market.
\nMaster of Detail: You can comfortably sketch out data flows, specify API dependencies, list
\nout every critical field on an intermediary application page, and articulate where friction
\nhappens for branch staff and brokers.
\nCollaboration Style: Thrives in a fast-paced environment working directly with leadership
\nand engineering teams to transform domain expertise into scalable product software.
\nAvailability: Ready to start immediately on an initial 3-month contract (extendable to 6
\nmonths).
\nWhy Join Us Now?
\n- \n
- This is an opportunity to directly shape the future of community banking in the UK. The mutual sector is facing massive margin compression and tech legacy challenges; your expertise will directly influence an AI-first framework designed to keep high-street mutuals competitive, compliant, and thriving. \n
- While this starts as a critical 3-month foundation-laying contract, we are establishing a permanent, high-growth footprint in the UK market. For a standout performer, this role offers a fantastic pathway to stay on and guide our extended operational and product roadmap as we scale. \n
How to Apply
\nIf you meet the criteria and are ready to hit the ground running alongside me and our engineering
\nteams, please apply directly via LinkedIn with your CV and a brief note outlining your previous LOS
\nimplementation or product development experience within the UK building societies world.
