About the Role

\n

Are you a veteran of the UK Building Societies or Credit Unions world who knows exactly what

\n

happens behind the scenes of a mortgage or loan application? Have you mapped, built, or

\n

implemented a Loan Origination System (LOS) from the ground up and know every workflow, data

\n

field, and API integration by heart?

\n

We are looking for a highly specialised Product Operations & Workflow Expert for an initial 3-

\n

month contract.

\n

\n

What You’ll Do

\n

Drive Product Engineering: Work hand-in-hand with our core product engineers to actively

\n

develop, refine, and shape the functionality, interfaces, and design of our new AI-first lending

\n

suite.

\n

Deconstruct the LOS Workflow: Map out the exact end-to-end mortgage and loan

\n

origination journey specific to UK Building Societies and Credit Unions from initial broker DIP

\n

(Decision in Principle) right through to completion.

\n

Granular Field & Interface Mapping: Drill down into the operational weeds. You will define

\n

the exact data fields, regulatory data points (FCA Consumer Duty, MCOB rules), and

\n

standard interface parameters required at each stage of the underwriting lifecycle.

\n

Interface & Integration Logic: Outline how modern LOS engines need to communicate with

\n

legacy core banking platforms, credit bureaus, valuation services, and intermediary/broker

\n

portals.

\n

Productizing AI Agents: Guide our Core Banking and Purple Fabric engineering teams on

\n

how to embed AI Digital Underwriting Agents into daily operations without breaking standard

\n

mutual sector governance or risk frameworks.

\n

\n

Who You Are

\n

This is not a generic project management or IT role. We need someone who has actively & quot; wielded the tools & quot; or owned the product operations in this specific niche.

\n

\n

Sector Deep-Dive: You have a deep, practical understanding of how UK Building Societies

\n

and Credit Unions uniquely operate their lending books (e.g., handling complex or non-

\n

standard manual underwriting compared to rigid tier-1 algorithmic banks).

\n

\n

LOS Subject Matter Expert: You have either:

\n

1. Implemented/Configured an LOS framework into a UK building society as an

\n

Operations/Business Lead.

\n

2. Acted as a Product Manager/Product Owner developing LOS software specifically

\n

tailored to the UK mutuals market.

\n

\n

Master of Detail: You can comfortably sketch out data flows, specify API dependencies, list

\n

out every critical field on an intermediary application page, and articulate where friction

\n

happens for branch staff and brokers.

\n

Collaboration Style: Thrives in a fast-paced environment working directly with leadership

\n

and engineering teams to transform domain expertise into scalable product software.

\n

Availability: Ready to start immediately on an initial 3-month contract (extendable to 6

months).
