Technical Project Manager / Senior Technical Project Manager / Associate
\nLocation: Leicestershire (Flexible Working Available)
\nSalary: £65,000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits
\nThe Opportunity
\nA growing land and development consultancy is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager / Associate to lead the technical delivery of residential and mixed-use development projects across the UK.
\nThis is a senior appointment offering a genuine pathway to Director level, providing the opportunity to shape technical delivery, support business growth and influence the long-term direction of the business.
\nYou will act as the senior technical lead across multiple infrastructure-led developments, managing design coordination, statutory approvals, infrastructure delivery and stakeholder engagement from pre-construction through to the commencement of works on site.
\nRole Overview
\nYou will take ownership of the technical and project management functions across a diverse portfolio of developments, including:

- Strategic residential infrastructure \n
- Mixed residential and commercial schemes \n
- Pre-construction technical coordination \n
- Infrastructure agreements and statutory approvals \n
This role combines hands-on project delivery with leadership responsibility, commercial input and client relationship management.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nTechnical & Design Coordination
\n- \n
- Act as the primary technical lead for clients and multidisciplinary consultant teams. \n
- Lead infrastructure design development and manage statutory approvals, including S278, S38, S104 and S184 agreements. \n
- Oversee the design and coordination of roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and associated infrastructure. \n
- Chair technical meetings and coordinate engineering and design teams. \n
- Prepare and manage technical documentation, including infrastructure delivery plans and design strategies. \n
Project & Programme Management
\n- \n
- Develop and manage project execution plans and technical delivery programmes. \n
- Coordinate approved designs with client, contractor and delivery teams. \n
- Support contractor procurement activities and ensure compliance with technical standards. \n
- Chair project meetings and maintain robust governance and reporting procedures. \n
- Monitor programme performance and proactively manage project risks. \n
Cost & Risk Management
\n- \n
- Provide technical input into cost planning and value optimisation. \n
- Identify, assess and mitigate technical and programme risks. \n
- Advise clients on technical variations and their commercial implications. \n
- Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed budgets and timescales. \n
Stakeholder Management
\n- \n
- Build strong working relationships with local authorities, statutory undertakers, consultants and contractors. \n
- Present technical updates clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders. \n
- Resolve design issues and coordinate technical solutions to maintain programme momentum. \n
- Ensure effective communication across all project teams throughout the development lifecycle. \n
Business Growth & Leadership

- Support business development initiatives and strengthen existing client relationships. \n
- Mentor and develop junior members of the technical project management team. \n
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the business and expansion of the technical service offering. \n
- Promote best practice and drive continuous improvement across project delivery. \n
Candidate Profile - Essential
\n- \n
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline), or an equivalent Project Management qualification. \n
- Minimum of five years' experience in technical project management within residential development, infrastructure or land development. \n
- Strong understanding of UK planning processes and technical approval procedures. \n
- Experience managing infrastructure agreements, including S278, S38, S104 and related approvals. \n
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary consultant teams. \n
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience working with residential developers or land promoters. \n
- Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract suites. \n
- Experience producing bespoke technical documentation and reports. \n
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project and/or BIM platforms. \n
