Job Title: Civil Design Engineer (Infra / Non-Infra)
\nSalary:
\nContract: up to £60 per hour (outside IR35)
\nPermanent: £45,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience)
\nLocation: Leeds
\nType: Contract or Permanent (hybrid working available)
\nAbout the Role:
\nOur client is seeking a Civil Design Engineer with experience across either infrastructure or non-infrastructure water projects to support delivery within the Yorkshire Water framework.
\nThis is a varied role covering both clean and wastewater projects, ranging from network and pipeline upgrades through to treatment works and facility-based civils. You will be involved across the full design lifecycle including feasibility, optioneering, detailed design, and construction support.
\nAbout the Client:
\nOur client is a well-established engineering consultancy operating within the UK water and infrastructure sector. They are delivering long-term secured work across key utility frameworks, with a strong pipeline of both network and treatment-led projects across the Yorkshire region.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n·Deliver civil design solutions across water infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure assets
\n·Design pipelines, pumping stations, storage tanks, and/or treatment works and associated civils
\n·Produce and review technical drawings, reports, specifications, and calculations
\n·Support feasibility studies, optioneering, and detailed design stages
\n·Ensure compliance with UK water industry standards and client requirements
\n·Work within multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers
\n·Contribute to design risk assessments, reviews, and value engineering exercises
\n·Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases where required
\nWhat Our Client is Looking For:
\n·Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
\n·Experience in the UK water sector (infrastructure or non-infrastructure)
\n·Strong understanding of water industry standards and delivery processes
\n·Experience with relevant design software (e.g. Civil 3D, AutoCAD, InfoWorks, MicroDrainage or similar)
\n·Ability to work across multiple project stages and manage technical delivery
\n·Strong communication skills within multidisciplinary teams
\n·Chartership or working towards chartership (desirable)
