Fire Safety Inspector/Assessor
Job Description
As a rapidly expanding compliance consultancy, we are seeking a qualified Fire Safety Inspector/Assessor to join our Fire Safety Team. This role is ideally full-time, although we would be happy to consider part-time applicants with the right experience.
\nWe are looking for someone who can cope with this dynamic role, whilst adopting a proportionate and common-sense approach to this ever-changing field. The successful applicant will be supported by an experienced fire risk management team, delivering inspections and consultancy on various fire safety issues, primarily (but not exclusively) within the social housing and education sectors.
\nThis is a home-based role, with daily travel to client sites and occasional visits to our Kent office for team meetings, training, and company events.
\nThis work stream involves the provision of fire safety information for the in-house fire safety teams of our clients and may include:

- Carrying out site audits on a variety of fire safety subjects and producing technical reports, including fire risk assessments, and providing remedial action recommendations as part of our inspection regime for our clients. \n
- Providing fire safety advice to clients, both written and oral. \n
- Occasionally representing our company at meetings. \n
- Ensuring clients are compliant with current legislation using the relevant guidance and standards applicable while remaining proportionate. \n
- Surveying fire doors and fire stopping at both pre and post work stage. \n
- Conducting site quality audits of fire risk assessments \n
The person will:
\n- \n
- Have a Level 4 fire risk assessment qualification recognised by the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers) or IFSM (Institute of Fire Safety Managers), or working towards that and have an ambition to add to this qualification. \n
- Have good records of CPD and willing to self-enhance their knowledge of fire safety. \n
- Have a good knowledge of UK legislation and guidance, including housing fire safety guidance. \n
- Be a member of the IFSM, IFE and other relevant professional body. \n
- Experienced in residential fire risk. \n
- Have a suitable fire door inspector qualification (This is desirable). \n
- Have an understanding of construction, upgrades and refurbishment. \n
- Be able to work on their own initiative and have an ambition to self-improve and be part of a team. \n
- Have good links for work in the Greater London area but be willing to travel further when required, including to the office in Kent on occasion. \n
- Have a clean driving licence. \n
- Good interpersonal skills. \n
