Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Ilford, East London Start Date: September 2026 Pay Rate: £120 - £130 per day (depending on experience) Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Interview Dates: First week back following the summer break Higher Level Teaching Assistant Required - Primary School - Ilford We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Ilford, East London from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or an aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment. The successful candidate will initially join on a temporary basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher. Support pupils' learning and development both in and out of the classroom. Work closely with teachers to raise attainment and promote positive learning outcomes. Lead small group interventions and provide targeted support where required. Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies. Contribute to the school's positive and nurturing learning environment.The Ideal Candidate Will Have HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification. Previous experience working within a UK Primary School. Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum. Experience covering classes and delivering lessons confidently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting children.
