HGV Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy Fleet Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for an immediate start within a professional workshop environment.

The Role:

As part of the Fleet Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and inspecting a diverse fleet of vehicles, including:

• Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)
\n
• Light Commercial Vehicles
\n
• Municipal Vehicles
\n
• Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and other fleet vehicles
\n
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
\n
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and safety checks
\n
• Carry out welding, fabrication and body repair work as required
\n
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and repair accident-damaged vehicles
\n
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
\n
• Ensure high standards of workshop housekeeping and health & safety compliance
\n

Essential Requirements:

\n
• Level 3 City & Guilds in Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
\n
• Full UK Driving Licence with Category C entitlement (Essential)
\n
• DVSA Inspection and Testing Qualification
\n
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles
\n
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
\n
