Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Buyer. This role is offered as a permanent full-time position.

Salary: £32,000 to £37,000 pa

Location: Near Dartford

Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Benefits include: 25 days annual leave, pension, free parking

The purpose of the role is to source and negotiate with new/lapsed suppliers the procurement of electronic components.

BUYER EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Electronic component knowledge
\n
• A good standard of secondary education preferably to A’ Level. (CIPS membership an advantage).
\n
• Thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MPS).
\n
• Modern supply methods including JIT and KANBAN
\n
• At least 6 months experience in a similar role (manufacturing experience an advantage e.g. electronics).
\n
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
\n
• Strong negotiation skills.
\n
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
\n
• Computer literate including Word, Excel, PDF Writer.
\n
• Cost reduction techniques
\n
• Component recognition skills.
\n
• Accurate and attention to detail driven approach.
\n
• Hands On approach to all tasks.
\n
