Head of Compliance

BettingJobs is recruiting a Head of Compliance for a leading payments innovator in London. This is a pivotal, hands-on role overseeing compliance and financial crime frameworks as the business scales, serving as MLRO and primary contact for all financial crime matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the compliance department and directly manage a team of three professionals.
\n
• Create, implement, and maintain frameworks for compliance and financial crime prevention.
\n
• Serve as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) with responsibility for anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions, and broader financial crime measures
\n
• Build and sustain effective working relationships with regulators, card schemes, and external partners
\n
• Champion the use of automation and data-driven solutions to enhance the compliance function
\n
• Foster a culture of compliance throughout the business via ongoing training and engagement initiatives
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Extensive experience leading compliance functions in the payments, fintech, or regulated financial sectors
\n
• Background as an MLRO or in a senior financial crime compliance role
\n
• In-depth understanding of relevant UK regulatory frameworks
\n
• Demonstrated success in designing and executing operational compliance strategies
\n
• Strong track record of stakeholder engagement and clear, effective communication
\n
