Senior Estimator

PSR Solutions are working with a market leading contractor within the Civil Engineering Sector to recruit a Senior Estimator to Join their Pre-Construction team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Walsall.

Senior Estimator Roles and Responsibilities

\n
• Undertake estimates in accordance with Company procedures
\n
• Lead a team of estimators for larger tenders, mentoring and developing junior estimators
\n
• Identify opportunities and risks during the tender process
\n
• Liaise with the business unit, Bid Manager and Planner to agree on methodology and Principles
\n
• Maintain a register of key assumptions within the estimate
\n
• Maintain tender estimate file
\n
• Provide indicative pricing support for business development
\n
• Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs
\n
• Close out actions and monitor customer negotiations, seeking amended authority as required
\n

Senior Estimator Requirements

\n
• Engineering or commercial background
\n
• HNC or equivalent in a related Engineering qualification
\n
• Experience in water and civils
\n
• Proven track record working on tenders ranging up to £50m
\n
• Numerically and IT literate, familiar with estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
\n
• Chartered, incorporated status or similar
\n
• Confidence in dealing with customers and personnel at a senior level
\n
