Production Planner
Job Description
We're looking for a Production Planner for a public sector organisation based in Reading on an initial contract running until December 2027, paying up to £32 per hour (Inside IR35, Umbrella).
\nThis is a full-time onsite role, with attendance required in the Reading area.
\nThe successful Production Planner will support the Master Production Schedule and detailed plan methods of manufacture across operational delivery units, balancing time, cost and quality. You'll keep the local MRP system accurate, apply Lean planning and production control techniques such as visual management and Kanban, and reforecast plans in response to supply chain challenges. You'll work closely with delivery units, suppliers and manufacturing teams to de-conflict demand and keep production on track.
\nYou will need proven experience in the following:
\nProduction planning within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
\nAn engineering background (precision engineering, mechanical or manufacturing) with a solid understanding of machining processes and manufacturing routes
\nManaging material availability, supplier deliveries, purchase orders and production schedules
\nStrong stakeholder management and communication across operations, supply chain and customer-facing teams
\nGood computer literacy with production performance tracking and reporting
\nExperience with SAP and other ERP systems would be beneficial.
\nYou'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain DV clearance for this role.
