POSITION: Graduate Pricing Actuarial Analyst

LOCATION: London/ Hybrid

Overall Objective of Role:

\n

This role’s primary focus is on supporting the development and integration of pricing and risk selection tools into the underwriting department and broader environment. The successful candidate will need to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role has a reliance on programming skills, so prior experience in R or SQL would be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of pricing models
  • \n
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of portfolio management and pricing tools
  • \n
  • Supporting underwriters in the pricing of large or complex risks
  • \n
  • Perform profitability and performance monitoring
  • \n
  • Support the analysis and development of new claims monitoring and trend analysis
  • \n
  • Support the analysis and exploration of new data sources
  • \n

Person Specification:

\n
    \n
  • Degree in either Mathematics, Science, Statistics or Economics.
  • \n
  • Able to analyse situations, identify key issues, evaluate options, and deliver practical, well-reasoned solutions
  • \n
  • Preferably with good programming skills or a keen interest in developing such skills. SQL or R experience is advantageous
  • \n
  • Able to work independently while seeking guidance appropriately, delivering high-quality work, setting and meeting challenging goals, and continuously improving performance
  • \n
  • Builds effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • \n
  • Comfortable participating in peer review, including constructively challenging and being challenged
  • \n
