Senior Data Engineer (Contract) Outside IR35Location: London (Hybrid 2 days per week on-site, mandatory )Contract: Initial 6 months with strong likelihood of extensionIR35: Outside IR35We're working with an established, data-driven business looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a small, high-impact data team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical specialist to take ownership of a critical data platform, improving existing infrastructure while building scalable foundations for the future.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data engineering challenges, has strong opinions on best practice, and is comfortable working independently while partnering closely with business stakeholders.What you'll be doing Design, build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines into Google BigQueryIntegrate data from CRM and digital marketing platforms, including HubSpot, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads and LinkedIn AdsImprove the reliability, scalability and performance of existing data infrastructureOwn data quality, monitoring, alerting, documentation and pipeline governanceReduce technical debt and establish engineering best practices that will support future growthWork closely with analytics, marketing and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, trusted and fit for reportingMake recommendations on architecture, tooling and implementation where appropriate, working within a pragmatic budgetWhat we're looking for 8+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experienceStrong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQueryProven experience building end-to-end batch data pipelines from scratchExperience integrating APIs from marketing and CRM platformsStrong understanding of data modelling, pipeline reliability and data qualityExperience implementing monitoring, alerting and documentation standardsComfortable working as a senior individual contributor in a lean teamSomeone who enjoys owning solutions, challenging ideas and influencing technical directionNice to have Experience working with GA4 dataExposure to Cloud Functions or other GCP servicesUnderstanding of digital marketing data and attribution modelsTPBN1_UKTJ
