Job Title: Configuration Change EngineerLocation: Aztec West, BristolPay: PAYE £288.15 or Umbrella £404.38Job ID: 2094Job Purpose / OverviewTo provide professional, high quality engineering support to the HPC Project on behalf of the Configuration Assurance Function of the NNB Technical Directorate and to ensure that the proposed design is compliant with UK regulations and context.Principal AccountabilitiesThe primary responsibility of the role of Configuration Engineer is to support the Change Control Branch of Configuration Assurance in coordinating HPC's activities within the Configuration Management processes.This will involve providing technical assistance and managing activities so that the Configuration Management processes owned by Configuration Assurance are properly, adequately and efficiently implemented across the project.The main scope is as follow:Along with the rest of the Change Control Team, the role will be the preferred point of contact within HPC for configuration management processes. In particular, the technical point of contact for Engineering Managers and Design Entities for all configuration management topics.Coordinates the contributions from HPC stakeholders to the progression of configuration management processes including resolution of Open Points, Design Changes, referential changes, and progressing agreements on Technical Interface attributes.Is responsible for controlling, supporting, overall steering and monitoring of the end-to-end configuration activities.Is involved in Design Handovers to NNB to ensure configuration control is maintained.Responsible for the development and maintenance of data centric ways of working for managing design configuration.In addition, the post-holder may be required to perform other tasks relevant for the project or to the personal development of the post holder.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & ExperienceKnowledge & SkillsDegree in a relevant science or engineering subject or strong technical background preferredExperience within the Nuclear Industry useful but not mandatoryExperience of process development and application within engineering projectsUnderstanding of quality arrangements required and associated with nuclear plant construction preferredUnderstanding of equipment engineering requirementsKnowledge of design processes and activities related to Nuclear Industry preferredKnowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirementsKnowledge of power station design is desirable (EPR or NPP)Proficient project management, organisational and Coordination skillsGreat communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersDecision making and escalation ability for resolution of issuesKnowledge of budget and schedule managementAbility to travel to different project locations across the South WestQualifications & ExperienceBehavioural CompetencesRelationship building skillsSelf-starterExcellent communicator and be able to work independentlyProactiveAttention to detailOrganisational skillsQuestioning attitudeReceptive to changeTechnical CompetenciesEngineering or technical discipline experienceUnderstanding of analysis tools and methods, combined with the ability to apply themUnderstand quality arrangements and preferably those associated with nuclear plant constructionUnderstand engineering requirementsDemonstrate ownership of a process and demonstrate proactivity in resolving Configuration Management issuesAbility to extract and compile relevant data according to the task in hand, often from numerous sourcesAnalysis of technical documentsPerforms analysis of data highlighting and summarising relevant issuesMaintains accurate and timely records (systems, databases, spreadsheets).Can develop and adapt theories to deliver project milestonesAbility to identify opportunities for improvements to procedures, processes and/or systems(optional) Possesses a broad knowledge of engineering principles in relation to power station designTPBN1_UKTJ
