Chemical Laboratory Analyst
\nLocation: Rugby, Warwickshire
\nType: Permanent, Full-Time, Monday-Friday
\nHours: Mon-Thurs 8.30 – 5.15pm, Fri 8.30 – 4.15pm (45min lunch break) 39hr week
\nOn Call: 1 in 7 weekends on an on-call rota (Approx 7 weekends a year)
\nIndustry: Wholesale Building Materials / Construction
\nSalary: £38,030k
\nProject Partners are now on the look out for a Chemical Laboratory Analyst to come and join a fantastic, hard-working team based in their office in Rugby, Warwickshire. \nJob Role:
\n- \n
- Responsible for the main laboratory daily activities, such as: ensuring representative sampling, obtaining and presenting accurate analysis, providing quality control advice to operators. \n
- Sampling and analysing all raw materials, process and product samples according to the sampling schedule provided by the Quality Coordinator (QC). \n
- Sampling, blending and preparing composite samples for customers when needed. \n
- Taking and analysing non-routine samples for process improvement, product development and/or customers’ requirements, specified by supervisor. \n
- Delivering on time and accurate analysis results and quality related information internally and externally. \n
- Monitors raw materials and fuels analysis and escalates when out of specification. \n
- Maintains and improves analysis reporting systems. \n
- Assisting in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. \n
- Carries out regular equipment calibration and accuracy, through a variety of methods (drift corrections, standard samples analysis, in-house comparative testing and “Internal Analytical Verification”). \n
- Maintain housekeeping standards in laboratory, Robolab and storage areas. \n
- Provides information on laboratory consumables levels for inventories management. \n
Candidate Experience Required:
\n- \n
- A Level in Chemistry \n
- GCSE in Maths \n
- Manual handling certificate desirable \n
- Good understanding and awareness of Health & Safety standards \n
- Previous experience working within a chemical laboratory essential \n
- Previous experience of working with analytical equipment such as XRF / XRD, IC, Flame Photometry, UV Spectrometry - desirable \n
- Experience of cement operations or heavy industry desirable \n
