We are working with a growing WealthTech business in London that has built a strong reputation for combining sophisticated financial modelling, investment expertise and technology to deliver highly personalised financial planning solutions for private clients.

Following a period of sustained growth, they are looking to hire a Lead Financial Modelling Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join their specialist modelling team. This role sits at the heart of the business's modelling capability and will focus on the continued development and enhancement of its financial planning and asset & liability modelling (ALM) frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Product, Technology and client-facing teams to improve existing models, develop new functionality and help shape the future direction of the firm's analytical capabilities

The position would suit somebody with strong quantitative and analytical skills who enjoys solving complex financial problems and turning concepts into practical modelling solutions. Candidates could come from a range of backgrounds including wealth management, financial planning, investments, actuarial, risk, banking or other quantitative modelling environments.

Some key aspects of the role will include:

  • Developing and enhancing financial modelling and ALM capabilities.
  • \n
  • Designing, maintaining and validating complex financial models and projection frameworks.
  • \n
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to translate commercial and client requirements into modelling solutions.
  • \n
  • Supporting the development of analytical tools used within financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • \n
  • Partnering with technology and product teams to implement model enhancements and new functionality.
  • \n
  • Contributing to model governance, testing and quality assurance processes.
  • \n
  • Researching new methodologies and industry developments to improve modelling capabilities.
  • \n

Whilst our client is prioritising the individual over any particular background, the ideal profile would include:

  • Strong academic credentials.
  • \n
  • Experience within financial modelling, ALM, investment analytics, risk, actuarial or a comparable quantitative environment. They are open minded on experience level but around 4 years would be a guide.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of investments, portfolio construction and financial markets.
  • \n
  • Python experience would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • \n
  • An intellectually curious mindset with a genuine interest in learning and continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to think independently.
