Portfolio Specialist/ Resource Manager
Job Description
Portfolio Analyst / Resource Management Analyst
\nLocation: Stratford / West Ham Lane, London
\nSalary: Up to £59,000
\nType: Permanent
\nOverview
\nWe are looking for a Portfolio Analyst with strong resource management experience to join a delivery-focused transformation environment. This is a hands-on role supporting portfolio planning, demand and capacity management, and the development of a more robust resourcing process across projects and transformation work.
\nThis is not a pure PMO administration role, nor a data-only analyst position. We need someone who can confidently work with delivery stakeholders, help shape process, and bring credibility to resource planning in a busy and evolving environment.
\nThe role will suit someone who has previously worked in a larger organisation with established resource management practices and who is comfortable operating in a role that spans analysis, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Support the management of delivery resources across a transformation portfolio \n
- Assist with demand planning, capacity planning, and long-term forecasting \n
- Help define, improve, and implement resource management processes \n
- Work with project managers, delivery leads, and stakeholders to understand resource needs \n
- Challenge and influence planning assumptions where required \n
- Support the fulfilment of resource requests across the portfolio \n
- Contribute to the development and rollout of a purpose-built resourcing tool \n
- Produce clear reporting and analysis to support portfolio decision-making \n
- Help mature a developing resource management function \n
- Maintain a focus on delivery resources rather than enterprise-wide resource tracking \n
Skills and Experience Required
\n- \n
- Proven experience in resource management or resource analysis within a portfolio, programme, or transformation environment \n
- Experience designing, improving, or rolling out resource management processes \n
- Strong understanding of demand planning, capacity planning, and forecasting \n
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and project managers \n
- Comfortable balancing operational delivery with process improvement \n
- Strong analytical and organisational skills \n
- Experience in a larger organisation with established delivery or resourcing practices \n
- Good understanding of roles such as Business Analysts, Project Managers, Solution Architects, and technical SMEs \n
What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- A credible and confident professional who can stand up to challenge \n
- Someone who can work independently and help shape a function \n
- A broader portfolio thinker, not just a narrow resource administrator \n
- A candidate who can add value both immediately and over the longer term \n
- Someone comfortable working closely with delivery teams in person \n
Location and Working Pattern
\nThis role is based in Stratford / West Ham Lane.
\nRemote working is not considered suitable for the needs of the role, although there may be limited flexibility depending on the candidate.
\nWhy Join Us?
\nThis is a new opportunity within a growing portfolio function, giving you the chance to help shape how resource management is run and influence the development of a key business capability.
