Employee Relations Advisor
Job Description
A leading public sector organisation is currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Adviser to join their People Operations team for a 6 month initial contract.
\nThe position is based in central London with hybrid working available (3 days per week in the office). The rate for the role will be £37 p/h umbrella (£28.47 PAYE)

\nAbout the Role
\nAs an Employee Relations Adviser, you will provide expert guidance and support to managers on a broad range of employee relations matters, ensuring decisions are fair, consistent and legally compliant. You'll manage a varied caseload, contribute to policy development and support the delivery of key employee relations initiatives across the organisation.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Provide advice and guidance to managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, mediation, probation, attendance and long-term absence cases. \n
- Manage and support escalated employee relations casework, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. \n
- Coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in handling people management issues. \n
- Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure a consistent and customer-focused employee relations service. \n
- Contribute to employee relations projects and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
- Prepare reports, briefings and management information to support senior stakeholders and decision-making forums. \n
- Assist in the analysis of employee relations data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement. \n
- Support the review and development of HR policies, ensuring they reflect current legislation and best practice. \n
- Build positive relationships with managers, employees, staff networks and trade union representatives. \n
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, case law and emerging HR best practice. \n
About You

- CIPD qualified or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of HR knowledge through experience. \n
- Experience working within a generalist HR or Employee Relations advisory role. \n
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application. \n
- Proven experience managing a range of complex employee relations cases. \n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. \n
- Experience providing coaching and support to managers at varying levels of seniority. \n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage multiple cases simultaneously. \n
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. \n
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem solving. \n
- Experience producing reports, briefings and management information to support senior decision making. \n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex organisational environment. \n
