\nWe're working with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer to recruit a Design Engineer who enjoys taking ideas from concept through to production. \nResponsibilities as Design Engineer

- Designing and developing new and existing mechanical products using SolidWorks. \n
- Taking projects from concept through prototyping, testing and into production. \n
- Improving existing designs for performance, quality, manufacturability and cost. \n
- Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation. \n
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Project teams to ensure successful product launches. \n
- Supporting engineering change requests and continuous product improvements. \n
- Carrying out design calculations and technical validation where required. \n
Qualifications and Experience as Design Engineer
\n- \n
- Previous experience in a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer position within manufacturing. \n
- Strong SolidWorks experience. \n
- Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical engineering background. \n
- Experience designing machined, cast or moulded components. \n
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM). \n
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. \n
- Strong SolidWorks experience. \n
- Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical engineering background. \n
- Experience designing machined, cast or moulded components. \n
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM). \n
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. \n
Preferred Skills you will also have as Design Engineer

- Experience with APQP, PPAP or Design & Process FMEA. \n
- Electric motors, gear systems or drive technologies. \n
- Lean manufacturing principles. \n
- Product approvals such as CE, UKCA or UL. \n
- Strong organizational and communication skills. \n
