Senior Transport Planner - London / Surrey (Hybrid)

\n\nPenguin Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading UK consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of development projects across the UK while benefiting from a hybrid working environment based in London or Surrey.
\nOur client specialises in transport planning and infrastructure design across a wide variety of sectors, including residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution, industrial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. Their team delivers tailored solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and assessment through to implementation and supervision, with a strong reputation for providing cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
\nYour responsibilities

- transport assessments \n
- transport statements \n
- feasibility studies for a range of development projects \n
You will also:
\n- \n
- manage transport modelling and travel plans \n
- contribute to highway design input \n
- coordinate with drainage and flood risk specialists \n
- prepare technical reports \n
- present findings to clients and stakeholders \n
- provide expert advice during meetings, consultations and public inquiries \n
- mentor junior team members \n
- support project management activities \n
- contribute to bids and proposals \n
- maintain strong client relationships to ensure high-quality project delivery \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Strong experience in transport planning, including the delivery of transport assessments, transport statements, and travel plans for development projects. \n
- Proficiency in transport modelling and related analytical tools, with the ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations. \n
- Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing, presentations, and stakeholder engagement. \n
- Degree (or equivalent) in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline. \n
- Professional accreditation with CIHT, TPS, ICE, or working towards accreditation is highly desirable. \n
- Experience with UK transport policy, design standards, and development planning processes, including liaison with local authorities and public bodies. \n
- Competence with relevant software, including junction and network modelling, GIS, and MS Office. \n
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid working environment, with excellent organisational skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. \n
