We're recruiting an experienced Office Manager to join a successful and growing business based in Chester.

\n

This newly created role will be central to the smooth running of the company, providing day-to-day operational, administrative and HR support across the business. Reporting directly to the leadership team, you'll become a trusted point of contact for employees, suppliers and visitors while helping to create an organised, professional and positive working environment.

\n

The RoleAs Office Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the office, covering facilities, administration, HR coordination and wider operational support.

\n

The position would suit a proactive, highly organised individual who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and spotting what needs to be done without waiting to be asked.

Office Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the office, including facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • \n
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, suppliers and incoming enquiries.
  • \n
  • Provide administrative support to the leadership team, including meetings, schedules and travel.
  • \n
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, personnel records, benefits and wider HR administration.
  • \n
  • Liaise with external HR advisers regarding policies and employee matters.
  • \n
  • Work alongside the finance team on invoices, expenses and related administration.
  • \n
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers.
  • \n
  • Organise internal events, team activities and meetings.
  • \n
  • Maintain office health and safety standards and support policy compliance.
  • \n
  • Coordinate IT equipment, software access and troubleshooting requests.
  • \n
  • Take ownership of general correspondence, documentation and office administration.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and the overall employee experience.

Office Manager Requirements

    \n
  • Current or recent experience in office management, business administration or operations.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting HR administration, including onboarding and employee records.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • \n
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • \n
  • Comfortable working closely with senior leaders, employees and external suppliers.
  • \n
  • Discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • \n
  • A proactive, practical approach with the confidence to take ownership and solve problems.
  • \n
  • Able to work from the Chester office Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

  • Experience working within a fast-paced SME or growing business.

  • Previous involvement in facilities, health and safety or office compliance.

  • Experience organising internal events, meetings or employee initiatives.
