Group Financial Accountant

A well established name in the live events and sporting industry is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their London finance team. The business operates a large network of venues nationwide, hosting a busy calendar of live events each year. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to work somewhere with real scale and heritage, where your day to day work sits alongside major live events.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Preparing weekly fixture reports along with month end and year end summaries, keeping stakeholders informed with timely, accurate information
\n
• Spotting opportunities to improve processes and systems, and working with colleagues to put better practices in place
\n
• Supporting reporting and analysis, including helping the Group Finance Manager prepare monthly board packs
\n
• Reviewing group VAT returns and making sure submissions are accurate and fully compliant
\n
• Acting as the main point of contact for audits relating to Head Office entities, and supporting the Group Finance Manager through group wide audits
\n
• Helping with compliance work such as ONS surveys, ESOS, SECR, and HMRC correspondence
\n
• Supporting the Group Finance Manager and wider Group Finance team, and helping embed new processes and best practice
\n
• Following Health and Safety procedures, including risk assessments and COSHH compliance, and supporting environmental initiatives
\n

Requirements of the role:

\n
• 1 -2 years post qualified experience in a similar accounting role within a large or group structured organisation
\n
• ACCA, ACA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification
\n
• Familiarity with consolidated reporting within a group structure
\n
• Prior exposure drafting Management Accounts
\n
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine team player mindset
\n
• Strong numerical skills and a keen eye for accuracy, even under tight deadlines
\n
• Experience with ERP systems such as Netsuite is a bonus, though not essential
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
