Multiskilled Engineer - Supervisor (FMCG)
Job Description
As a Supervisor and multiskilled Shift Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production machinery and site services within a fast paced food manufacturing environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting production targets.

\nDescription
\n- \n
- Lead on shift team of engineers (3 direct reports per shift) \n
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment \n
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repair \n
- Ensure all machinery operates in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP) \n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency \n
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all documentation \n
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance \n
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times \n
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment \n
- Monitor and maintain utilities (e.g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air systems) \n
- Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement corrective actions \n

Profile
\nA successful Multiskilled Shift Engineer should have:
\n- \n
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent) \n
- Electrical certification (e.g., 18th Edition) - desirable \n
- Hands-on experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance within an FMCG environment. \n
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks. \n
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an engineering and manufacturing setting. \n
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues. \n

\n£56,000
\nShift Pattern: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 2 days and 2 nights (7am - 7pm & 7pm -7am)
\nReports To: Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager
