Experienced Legal Cashier (Temporary Contract - Up to 3 Months)

A well-established and respected law firm in the heart of Harrogate is seeking an Experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team on a part-time temporary basis for up to 3 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable Legal Cashier who can quickly integrate into a busy finance function and provide immediate support across a range of legal accounting duties. The successful candidate will have previous legal cashiering experience and a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing client and office account transactions accurately and efficiently
\n
• Handling electronic payments, receipts, and banking activities
\n
• Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
\n
• Processing client and office account transfers
\n
• Managing residual balances and supporting compliance requirements
\n
• Investigating and resolving account queries and discrepancies
\n
• Assisting fee earners and colleagues with finance-related enquiries
\n
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc cashiering duties as required
\n

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
\n
• Good working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
\n
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
\n
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
\n
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
\n
• Strong IT skills, including experience using finance and case management systems
\n
• A proactive and professional approach
\n
