Mechanical EngineerAmmanford3 Shift Pattern (Monday to Friday)Circa £42,000 + BenefitsYolk Recruitment is working with a well-established manufacturing business in the Ammanford area to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent three-shift rotation.This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer looking to join a stable and growing manufacturer that continues to invest in its people, equipment, and production facilities. You'll play a key role in maintaining plant performance, supporting production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the site.As Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across manufacturing equipment and machineryDiagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiencyUndertaking basic electrical fault finding and supporting electrical repairs where requiredCompleting welding and fabrication work to support breakdown repairs, equipment modifications, and improvement projectsMaintaining mechanical systems including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, motors, hydraulics and pneumaticsSupporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce recurring faultsWorking closely with production teams to ensure maximum machine availabilityEnsuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company standardsThe experience you'll bring to the team:A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalentStrong mechanical maintenance experience gained within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environmentBasic electrical fault-finding experience and confidence working on multi-skilled maintenance tasksWelding and fabrication skillsExperience working with mechanical drives, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsA proactive approach to fault finding and problem solvingStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environmentAnd this is what you'll get in return:Circa £42,000 annual salaryMonday to Friday three-shift rotationCompany pension schemeOngoing training and development opportunitiesSecure employment with an established manufacturerOpportunity to work within a supportive engineering team on a well-invested siteAre you up to the challenge?If you're a Mechanical Engineer with welding experience and basic electrical fault-finding skills looking for a new challenge in a busy manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.Please get in touch today with engineering specialist recruiter, Andy Jones .Please apply with a CV and feel free to include a cover letter outlining why you're perfect for the role.
