About the Role

\n

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end subcontract procurement across our major infrastructure frameworks, with a key focus on Water projects.

\n

Subcontracting represents roughly 90% of our procurement activity. In this role, you will own the full end-to-end subcontract lifecycle—from initial sourcing and market engagement through to contract award, performance management, and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).

\n

\n

While water sector experience is highly desirable to help us bridge a knowledge gap in our team, we are highly receptive to outstanding procurement professionals with a strong civil engineering, utilities, or heavy infrastructure background.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • End-to-End Subcontract Procurement: Lead the complete procurement lifecycle for high-value subcontracts, ensuring robust commercial terms and alignment with project timelines.
  • \n
  • Contract Management (NEC): Draft, negotiate, and administer subcontracts utilizing the NEC contract suite.
  • \n
  • Framework Delivery: Support and optimize procurement delivery across our water framework agreements.
  • \n
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Monitor subcontractor performance records, manage key relationships, and drive continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • \n
  • Strategic Sourcing: Move beyond transactional buying (day-to-day materials are handled by our dedicated materials desk) to focus on strategic, heavy-side subcontract packages.
  • \n
\n

\n

Candidate Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Subcontract Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle of subcontractors is essential.
  • \n
  • Contractual Literacy: Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is highly preferred.
  • \n
  • Location & Mobility: Based in the Midlands or South West (ideally Central or West of England). You must be willing to work hybrid out of our Coventry office and travel to Bristol and East Anglia as required.
  • \n
  • Water Sector Experience: Experience working on water authority projects is a major plus.
  • \n
  • Infrastructure/Civils Background: Candidates with a robust background in civil engineering, heavy infrastructure, or major utilities will be highly valued.
