Associate / Senior Associate - Sustainability

Overview of role
\nAn award-winning, design-led engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Associate - Sustainability to join its established Sustainability team in the South-West.
\nYou will lead sustainability and commercial strategies on high-profile, design-led developments, working with ambitious clients committed to advancing environmental performance. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, team development, and business growth.
\nYou will play a key part in delivering commercially sound, human-centred and environmentally responsible solutions, helping shape projects from concept through to completion.
\nRole responsibilities and requirements
\nYou will:

- Manage client relationships and act as a senior project lead. \n
- Monitor project finances, contribute to fee proposals, and support invoicing. \n
- Support business development and regional work-winning initiatives. \n
- Lead workshops and clearly communicate technical information to design teams and stakeholders. \n
- Oversee modelling and analysis including whole life carbon, embodied carbon, operational energy, overheating and circular economy strategies. \n
- Mentor and develop junior team members. \n
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and industry engagement activities. \n
Key skills and qualities needed
\nProfessional capabilities
\n- \n
- Significant experience within sustainability consultancy in a design-led environment. \n
- Chartered or working towards professional accreditation. \n
- Confident leading multidisciplinary sustainability workshops. \n
- Commercially aware with experience managing project performance. \n
- Strong communication and organisational skills. \n
- Experience mentoring and developing colleagues. \n
Strong knowledge in several of the following (specialist depth in selected areas expected):

- Energy strategy development \n
- Building Regulations compliance modelling \n
- Environmental certification delivery (e.g. BREEAM, HQM or equivalent) \n
- Sustainability, energy and whole life carbon planning documentation \n
- Circular economy strategy development \n
