Job Description
Technical Service Chemist required in Cheshire East, on a permanent basis. Requiring a degree or relevant qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science (or similar) and recent, proven industrial experience within laboratory testing, technical services, quality control or R&D. Candidates with coatings, adhesives, paper, film or related manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.

\nSRG are working with a market-leading materials manufacturer specialising in the development and production of advanced coated products for a range of industrial applications. They are now seeking a Technical Service Chemist to join their technical team in Cheshire East on a permanent basis. This role is designed for someone with strong laboratory and technical support experience and will involve coordinating technical service activities, laboratory testing and customer-focused technical support projects. This role will suit candidates with recent and proven industrial experience within technical service, quality control, laboratory testing or R&D and who are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience within coatings, adhesives, paper or film manufacturing is desirable but not essential.

- Prioritise and coordinate technical service requests to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. \n
- Support customer requirements and short-term product development activities. \n
- Conduct laboratory testing safely, accurately and in line with agreed procedures and standards. \n
- Ensure testing data is recorded, analysed and communicated effectively. \n
- Coordinate and support production and customer trials when required. \n
- Work closely with technical teams and wider stakeholders to align priorities and resources. \n
- Support investigations into quality issues, customer enquiries and product performance concerns. \n
- Assist with technical reports and recommendations based on laboratory findings. \n
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all H&S, compliance and training standards are met. \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across technical and laboratory activities. \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline. \n
- Proven industrial experience in laboratory testing, technical service, quality control or R&D. \n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. \n
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment. \n
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and with customers. \n
- Experience within coatings, adhesives, paper, film or a related manufacturing environment is desirable. \n
- Knowledge of statistics, data analysis or design of experiments would be advantageous. \n
- Project management experience is beneficial but not essential. \n
