Senior Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
A London Local Authority is currently recruiting for a Senior HR Business Partner to join their HR & Organisational Development team on a permanent basis.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a senior HR professional to lead the delivery of a strategic, business-focused HR service, partnering with senior leaders to drive organisational change, workforce planning and people performance across a complex public sector environment.
\nThis role will be offered hybrid with a requirement to attend the office 3 days per week.
\nAbout the Role
\nAs a Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a trusted adviser to Directors, senior leaders and managers, delivering expert HR solutions that support corporate objectives while managing organisational risk. You will lead a team of HR professionals, oversee complex employee relations matters and play a key role in workforce transformation and organisational change programmes.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Partner with Directors and senior leaders to understand service priorities and provide strategic HR solutions. \n
- Lead and manage a team of HR Business Partners and HR Advisors, driving high performance and service excellence. \n
- Develop and implement people plans aligned to corporate and workforce priorities. \n
- Lead on complex employee relations cases, providing expert advice on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, redundancy and organisational change matters. \n
- Act as the HR lead on major transformation and change programmes, ensuring risks are effectively managed within a legal framework. \n
- Build strong relationships with trade unions and support consultation and negotiation activity. \n
- Use workforce data and management information to identify trends, provide insight and support strategic decision-making. \n
- Support talent management, workforce planning, recruitment and retention initiatives across the organisation. \n
- Oversee employment tribunal cases and provide advice on high-risk and sensitive employment matters. \n
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion through workforce strategies and people initiatives. \n
- Represent HR on corporate projects, organisational design reviews and cross-council workstreams. \n
About You
\n- \n
- CIPD Level 7 qualified and a member of CIPD at MCIPD or FCIPD level, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. \n
- Significant experience operating as a senior HR professional within a large and complex organisation. \n
- Extensive experience leading organisational change and transformation programmes. \n
- Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to translate legislation into practical business-focused solutions. \n
- Proven track record of providing strategic HR advice to senior stakeholders. \n
- Experience managing complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, ill-health and redundancy cases. \n
- Demonstrable experience building effective relationships with trade unions and managing consultation processes. \n
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing HR teams. \n
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. \n
- Ability to analyse complex information and develop practical, innovative solutions to business challenges. \n
- Experience using workforce data and HR metrics to inform planning and decision-making. \n
