Workshop TechnicianLocation: London, SE1Job Type: Permanent | Full-TimeSalary: Competitive (DOE)The OpportunityWe are recruiting for an experienced R&D Workshop Technician to join an innovative manufacturing business specialising in the design and development of market-leading products. This is a hands-on workshop role where you'll be responsible for producing prototypes, components and assemblies to support the development of new products.Working closely with the Design and Engineering teams, you'll play a key role in bringing concepts to life by manufacturing functional prototypes and developing practical engineering solutions.Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture prototypes, components and assemblies from engineering drawings and concepts. \n
- Produce tools, jigs and fixtures to support prototype manufacture. \n
- Work closely with Design and Engineering teams to develop practical solutions. \n
- Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings. \n
- Generate CNC toolpaths using CAM software. \n
- Set up, programme and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines. \n
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce precision components. \n
- Commission prototype parts and liaise with overseas suppliers where required. \n
- Maintain workshop equipment, tooling and consumable stock. \n
- Ensure the workshop remains safe, organised and compliant with Health & Safety procedures. \n
- Support continuous improvement and product development activities. \n
What We're Looking For

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a workshop, machining or prototype manufacturing environment. \n
- Level 3 Engineering Technician, Machining Technician or equivalent experience. \n
- Experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks desirable). \n
- Experience using CAM software to generate CNC programmes would be beneficial. \n
- Strong CNC machining experience, including 3-axis CNC mills would be beneficial. \n
- Manual machining experience using lathes and milling machines. \n
- Good knowledge of machining a range of materials including steel, aluminium, plastics and wood. \n
- Competent using workshop machinery and hand tools. \n
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams. \n
