Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Sparkford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Machine Operator, Press Brake Operator, CNC Machine Operator, or Laser Operator to work within a fast-paced production environment using a range of advanced machinery.

Key Duties\n
    \n
  • Set up and operate press brake, CNC router, and laser cutting machinery.
  • \n
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
  • \n
  • Check materials for correct size, thickness, and grade.
  • \n
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work from Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • \n
  • Use nesting software to optimise material usage.
  • \n
  • Inspect, measure, and deburr finished parts.
  • \n
  • Sort and organise components by job and material type.
  • \n
  • Complete documentation to maintain quality standards.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.
  • \n
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain accurate records.
  • \n
  • Operate additional machinery as required.
  • \n
  • Identify risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Proven experience operating press brakes, CNC routers, or laser cutting machines.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • \n
  • Competent using measuring tools such as verniers, squares, protractors, and tape measures.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of nesting software is advantageous.
  • \n
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
