Finance Officer

Sharp Consultancy are working with a well established Sheffield based organisation to recruit a Finance Officer on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance team during a busy period, providing key support through the year end process and external audit.

This is a varied role that will suit someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and can quickly become a valued member of the team.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will provide hands on support across the finance function, ensuring day to day processes continue to run smoothly while assisting with year end activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the finance team through the year end close and external audit.
\n
• Performing balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
\n
• Processing purchase invoices and assisting with supplier queries.
\n
• Managing sales ledger activities, including raising invoices and allocating receipts.
\n
• Assisting with cash postings and account reconciliations.
\n
• Supporting month-end processes where required.
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity.
\n
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider finance team to resolve queries and meet deadlines.
\n
• Providing general finance support as required during this busy period.
\n

About You

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

\n
• Previous experience within a varied finance role.
\n
• Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Experience within purchase ledger and sales ledger.
\n
• Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems.
\n
• The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
\n
• A proactive approach with strong communication skills and a willingness to support the wider team.
\n
