Finance Accountant

Essex | Hybrid | Salary £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + Benefits

We're recruiting for a Finance Accountant to join a well-established and growing business. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll support the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Manage sales and purchase ledger activities
\n
• Raise invoices and support credit control processes
\n
• Complete bank reconciliations and cash allocations
\n
• Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns
\n
• Assist with month-end reporting, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
\n
• Produce contract cost reports and support management accounts
\n
• Maintain accurate financial records and support external audits
\n

About You

\n
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA
\n
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
\n
• Knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
\n
• Experience preparing VAT and CIS returns
\n
• Sage accounting software experience preferred
\n
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
\n
