Job Title: Plater

\n

Location: Rotherham – Workshop and Site BasedContract: PermanentHours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm)Hourly Rate: £19.48

\n

Responsibilities of a Plater:

\n
    \n
  • Fabricating and assembling tanks, vessels, hoppers, and pressure vessels from engineering drawings.
  • \n
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
  • \n
\n

Marking out, measuring, and preparing steel, stainless steel, or aluminium plate for fabrication.

\n
    \n
  • Cutting materials using guillotines, plasma cutters, oxy-fuel, or saws.
  • \n
  • Rolling, bending, and forming plate to the required dimensions and specifications.
  • \n
  • Assembling components using tack welding, clamps, and fixtures before final welding.
  • \n
  • Producing high-quality fabrication and welds in line with BS EN ISO 9001, ASME IX, BS EN, CE and customer specifications
  • \n
  • Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and assembling products in line with technical requirements
  • \n
  • Operating a range of equipment safely, including weld sets, grinders, cranes and forklifts (LOLER compliant)
  • \n
  • Working on storage tanks and associated projects to API and EEMUA standards
  • \n
  • Keeping weld coding management up to date in accordance with ASME9 & BS EN requirements
  • \n

Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Plater/Welder role
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of API and EEMUA standards
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
  • \n
  • Proven experience in fabrication, mechanical assembly, and coded welding
  • \n
  • Comfortable working independently and taking a lead role within a team
  • \n
  • Confident meeting strict deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality
  • \n
  • A proactive approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to doing things right
  • \n
\n

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • \n
  • Right to work in the UK
  • \n
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • \n
  • Flexibility to work off-site, including occasional travel to other locations
  • \n
  • Ability to stay in temporary accommodation when projects require it
  • \n
