Interim Senior Procurement Officer
\nRate: £500 per day inside IR35
\nLocation: Dorchester, Dorset - hybrid working
\nContract: 3 months +
\nSellick Partnership is pleased to be supporting a local authority client in their search for an Interim Senior Procurement Officer - Highways and Transport.
\nCandidates must be able to travel to Dorset Council 2 days a week.
\nPrevious local government experience is required, with working knowledge within School Transport Contracts and Public Transport Contracts.
\nKey responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end procurement processes school transport contracts, public transport contracts \n
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with UK public procurement regulations, the Procurement Act 2023, and local authority standing orders. \n
- Prepare tender documentation, support supplier engagement, and oversee evaluation and award processes. \n
- Advise internal stakeholders on procurement strategy, risk management, and contract compliance. \n
- Support the development and delivery of frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems. \n
- Maintain accurate records for audit and governance purposes. \n
- Provide expert guidance to internal teams \n
Required experience:
\n- \n
- Proven experience in public sector procurement, ideally within a local authority setting. \n
- Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation and contract forms (NEC). \n
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines. \n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. \n
- Immediate availability and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. \n
