Group Heavy Maintenance Planning & Optimisation Manager
Job Description
We are seeking for a Manager with technical expertise in heavy maintenance planning activities, to manage transformation initiatives in this area. This strategic Management position will act as a Project Manager, working closely with AI lab, data scientists, and operational experts to support the development and integration of AI-powered tools and other innovative technologies. The emphasis is on applying these solutions to drive business transformation within the airline’s Technical Operations and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) functions.
\nAccountabilities:
\nStrategic Oversight of Group Maintenance Planning

- Lead the development and monitoring of the Group’s heavy maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. \n
- Drive consistency in planning standards, methodologies, and reporting across all maintenance locations. \n
- Foster collaboration between OpCos to ensure accurate, reliable maintenance data and group-wide alignment. \n
- Define and track KPIs relevant to heavy maintenance planning and execution, reporting on performance to senior stakeholders. \n
Maintenance Scheduling and Resource Optimisation

- Identify cross-site scheduling risks and lead resolution strategies to mitigate disruptions. \n
- Support local maintenance teams in the implementation of efficient, standardised planning processes. \n
- Develop and implement strategies that enhance schedule adherence and reduce variability Capacity and Demand Management \n
- Oversee the analysis of maintenance capacity versus demand to identify operational and strategic risks. \n
- Guide the development of forecasting models to ensure accurate planning of future maintenance needs. \n
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management regarding resource allocation and capacity adjustments. \n
Reporting and Stakeholder Communication

- Produce high-level reporting on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives for senior stakeholders. \n
- Serve as the key point of contact for internal communications relating to group maintenance planning. \n
Continuous Improvement and Innovation

- Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance planning systems and processes. \n
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends, tools, and regulatory changes, integrating relevant developments into the group’s planning strategy. \n
- Represent the planning function in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving overall operational efficiency. \n
Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field. \n
- Proven experience in heavy maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in a multi-site or group environment. \n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and develop actionable recommendations. \n
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance planning principles, methodologies, and best practices. \n
- Proficiency in maintenance planning software and tools (e.g., Amos, Omega, SAP, etc.). \n
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to heavy maintenance. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. \n
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage \n
- multiple priorities and deadlines. \n
