MRG is supporting a respected non-profit organisation in the appointment of an Interim Head of Property to lead a strategic review of its property function and provide leadership across a diverse residential, heritage and land portfolio.

Reporting directly to the exec team, this is a high-impact interim opportunity for a senior property professional who can quickly assess current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and help shape the future structure of the service ahead of a permanent appointment.

The Portfolio

• Approximately 135 properties, predominantly residential
\n
• A significant number of properties are heritage assets requiring careful stewardship and investment planning
\n
• Around 11,000 acres of land with future development potential
\n
• Strategic land matters are outsourced by an external agent, requiring strong client-side leadership and stakeholder management
\n

Key Priorities

\n
• Conduct a strategic review of the property function
\n
• Assess current structures, systems, processes and ways of working
\n
• Review asset performance and identify opportunities for disposal, investment and optimisation
\n
• Strengthen operational effectiveness and efficiency
\n
• Lead and develop a small property team
\n
• Manage key external advisers and professional consultants
\n
• Support ongoing acquisition opportunities and wider estate strategy
\n

We're Looking For

\n
• Senior property leadership experience
\n
• A track record of reviewing or transforming property functions
\n
• Strong asset management expertise
\n
• Experience managing residential and ideally heritage portfolios
\n
• Excellent stakeholder and adviser management skills
\n
• Exposure to land, estate management or development activities
\n
• Proven leadership capability and a strategic mindset
\n
• MRICS or MCIOB
