Maintenance & Systems Technical Authority
\nLocation: Barrow-in-Furness
\nContract: long term, PAYE
\nAre you a highly experienced maintenance engineering professional looking to take on a key technical leadership role within a high-hazard operating environment?
\nWe're seeking a Maintenance & Systems Technical Authority to provide technical governance, assurance, and leadership across maintenance strategies, asset care standards, and maintenance management systems. This is a pivotal role, ensuring asset integrity, process safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Act as the Technical Authority for maintenance and maintenance systems \n
- Approve or reject technical deviations, dispensations, and non-conformances \n
- Ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements, including COMAH, Safety Case, SEMS, and industry standards \n
- Provide technical oversight of critical equipment maintenance and safety-critical elements \n
- Support failure investigations and lead investigations using Kelvin TopSet methodologies \n
- Own and develop maintenance management systems, driving continuous improvement and data quality \n
- Support asset integrity reviews, audits, and regulatory engagements \n
- Develop technical capability and contribute to competence frameworks \n
- Provide robust technical challenge where safety, integrity, or standards may be compromised \n
What We're Looking For
\n- \n
- Extensive maintenance engineering experience within onshore or offshore operations \n
- Previous experience in a Technical Authority or Senior Discipline Engineer role \n
Strong knowledge of:
\n- \n
- Maintenance strategies and reliability engineering \n
- Safety-critical equipment and barrier management \n
- Maintenance systems and work management processes \n
- Proven ability to make and defend risk-based technical decisions in high-hazard environments \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Degree qualified in an Engineering or Technology discipline \n
- Chartered Engineer status \n
- Investigation and event management training, such as Kelvin TopSet, is highly desirable \n
