Histology Senior Scientist – Histology & Tissue Analysis

\nThe Opportunity
\nWorking within a multidisciplinary research team, you will support discovery and preclinical research projects by generating high-quality data from human tissue samples using a range of tissue-based and molecular techniques.
\nThis position is particularly suited to a scientist who enjoys being hands-on in the laboratory and has significant experience analysing tissue samples and interpreting microscopy-based data.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Perform and optimise tissue-based assays including: \n
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC) \n
- Immunofluorescence (IF) \n
- In Situ Hybridisation (ISH) \n
- Work extensively with human tissue samples including FFPE and fresh frozen material. \n
- Conduct microscopy and image analysis to support programme decision-making. \n
- Generate, interpret and communicate high-quality scientific data. \n
- Support target validation and biomarker research activities. \n
- Collaborate closely with research scientists across multiple projects. \n
- Contribute to assay troubleshooting, method development and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
Essential skillset
\n- \n
- PhD in a Life Sciences discipline (or equivalent industry experience). \n
- Strong hands-on expertise in histology and tissue-based assays. \n
- Experience working with human tissue samples. \n
- Expertise in Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF) and/or In Situ Hybridisation (ISH). \n
- Experience using microscopy and image analysis software. \n
- Strong scientific data interpretation and communication skills. \n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. \n
Highly Desirable

- Oncology, translational research or drug discovery experience. \n
- Biomarker or target validation experience. \n
- Previous biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience. \n
