Are you a technically sound chartered Structural Engineer with experience in temporary works design and site support seeking a genuine career development opportunity? Do you have the desire to work for Waterman on a variety of projects.

We are currently looking for a Principal Structural Engineer with the benefit of at least fifteen years' postgraduate UK consultancy experience to fill a permanent opening at our Redhill office in the heart of the South East 5 minutes from the station.

We have recently been successful in numerous markets including rail, private and local government amongst others, with varying fees and complexity. Our well-established civil structures team is growing and are looking to add a capable and skilled Structural Engineer to our dynamic design office as the work continues to come in.

Requirements of the Principal Structural Engineer with temporary works experience:

\n
    \n
  • A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • \n
  • Chartered by MICE or MIStructE;
  • \n
  • Experienced in design, including buildability, of temporary works;
  • \n
  • Experienced in workshop discussions with contractors and permanent designers;
  • \n
  • Ten years' UK experience in temporary works design
  • \n
  • Ability to write sound technical reports
  • \n
  • Ability to self manage and support the team
  • \n
  • Awareness to be able to manage interfaces with AutoCAD and revit
  • \n
  • Ability and awareness of relevant Structural design software
  • \n
  • Ability to design in major building materials including RC, Steel, masonry and timber
  • \n
  • Working knowledge to ensure that design comply with BS 5975
  • \n
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes
  • \n
  • Rail experience preferred
  • \n
