Summary We’re looking for a talented Training & Development Manager to join the HR team in Middlesbrough. This role is ideal for someone experienced in creating and delivering learning strategies within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping workforce capability and future talent pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and development strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • \n
  • Create and maintain a Learning Management System and competency framework.
  • \n
  • Design and deliver training programmes, materials, and induction sessions.
  • \n
  • Conduct training needs analysis and build tailored learning plans.
  • \n
  • Manage training budgets and monitor ROI from programmes delivered.
  • \n
  • Source and liaise with external providers and funding streams for training.
  • \n
  • Work with HR and Talent Acquisition to design apprenticeship and succession planning initiatives.
  • \n
  • Ensure training practices uphold safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • \n

Must-have Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Proven experience as a Training or Learning Development Specialist in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
  • \n
  • Strong track record in developing and executing successful training programmes.
  • \n
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Solid knowledge of traditional and modern training methods, including blended learning.
  • \n
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • \n

Nice-to-have Skills

  • CIPD membership (advantageous but not essential).
  • \n
  • Familiarity with competency management systems and SQEP registers.
  • \n
\n
