About the Role

\n


\n

The Research Scientist is responsible for supporting the conduct of pre-clinical in vivo studies and preparing compounds for dosing according to study protocols.

\n


\n

Responsibilities:

\n


\n
    \n
  • Prepare dosing solutions and suspensions from both liquid and powder test materials at required concentrations for use in pre-clinical studies
  • \n
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is sufficiently calibrated and quality checked before use, and that equipment is maintained appropriately according to service and calibration schedules
  • \n
  • Collect and QC data from in vivo imaging studies
  • \n
  • To ensure that records of formulations and imaging are recorded accurately, in a timely fashion to the required standard
  • \n
  • Facilitate communication across Crown Bioscience departments, providing relevant information to respective departments and Study Directors
  • \n
  • Ensure quality assurance is maintained by following company SOPs and working under Crown’s Quality System
  • \n

Experience:

\n


\n
    \n
  • BSc. in a scientific discipline (essential)
  • \n
  • Experience working in a laboratory and in use of basic equipment (essential)
  • \n
  • Experience working aseptically (desirable)
  • \n
  • Experience handling chemical and biological material (desirable)
  • \n
  • Experience in different dissolution methods (desirable)
  • \n
  • Knowledge of oncology (desirable)
  • \n

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work safely and independently in a laboratory environment
  • \n
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including basic understanding of Excel
  • \n
  • Competent in use of basic laboratory equipment
  • \n
  • Accurately follow formulation instructions involving multiple steps and use of different pieces of equipment
  • \n
  • Ability to perform scientific calculations (e.g. calculation of volumes and concentrations)
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot effectively and solve scientific problems
  • \n
  • Ability to find, read and understand scientific literature
  • \n
